Every once in a while we get a question about how SMS credit refill actually works. To clearly explain it, let’s play out a scenario. Let’s imagine you’re on the 20 SMS/mo credit plan. That would be our Enterprise 10 checker @ $5/mo. When you first sign up, you immediately get 20 SMS credits. Then every month when your subscription renews, those credits are brought to 20 if, and this is important, they are below 20 at the time of renewal.
So let’s say you signed up on March 4th and got 20 credits. By April 4th, you have used up 4 of those credits and are currently at 16. Your SMS credit count will be reset to 20 on April 4th. It’s important to understand that 20 credits will not get added to 16. Rather the count will get reset to 20.
But let’s imagine that between March 4th and April 4th you bought extra 60 SMS credits to bring your total to 80. By April 4th you have used up 10 and are sitting at 70 credits. No change will be made to your credits on April 4th; they will remain at 70.
This exact logic applies to any plan you’re on, whether it’s the 40-credit plan or 100-credit plan.
Same happens for the yearly subscriptions, except the process described above takes place once per year.
